Camp Grama: Griffith Park Observatory Aug 2008

This Camp Grama outing was all about Science and hands on learning at the observatory. Hannah, Sarah and Rebekah learned a lot. Grampa Thomas was able to share his knowledge. We were there over 8 hours and were even able to see Saturn with 4 of it's moons in the night sky looking through their biggest telescope. Mr. Griffith donated all the land and the park to create the largest park of it's kind. Griffith Park is also home to the Hollywood Bowl where the public can enjoy outside concerts by some of the worlds finest talent.

Griffith Park Observatory was recently renovated...well actually it was a 4 yr project. The new exhibit about our solar system is "out of this world..."

Grampa Thomas explained how to read the equipment on earthquakes. Jumping on the floor creating new reading. That was fun!

Science Rocks, Grampa!!
